- layer blending mode 'multiply' : darkens everything on the layer
- layer blending mode 'color dodge' : highlighten everything on the layer

- backgound gradient : soft brush + gaussian blur
- glowing sun: gaussian blur + soft brush on the edge with a new layer
- depth of reeds : perspective blur to right side

- background & glowing sun edge : airbrusihng > soft brush
- darker waves : airbrushing > soft airbrush
- sun outline : calligraphy > monoline
- sun reflection on water : luminance > lightbrush
- reed stem : inking > dry ink
- reed plumes : drawing > styx
